Springside Distillery(26 April 2004)
Springside蒸留所は1830年に町の中心地に近いBurnside Street沿いに建てられた。小規模な蒸留所が多いCampbeltownの蒸留所の中でも一番小さかった。
しかし経営の方は順調で創業家が所有し、操業していたが他のCampbeltownの蒸留所と同じく、ウィスキー不況の真っ只中の1926年に閉鎖された。
蒸留所の建物は長い間、何も使用されなかったが第二次世界大戦中の1941年1月にCampbeltownの生活協同組合がお店や作業場に改造する許可を申請した。
現在、敷地は電力会社が使用し、蒸留所のウェアハウスは一棟だけ今も残っている。

However, it was favorable and founder family, Colvills owned and operated. But as well as other distilleries in Campbeltown, it was closed in 1926, during the recession of whisky industry.
Buildings of the distillery were vacant for a long time, Co-operative Sosiety in Campbeltown applied for permission to convert the buildings to stables and store.
Today site is an electric power company and only one warehouse of distillery still stands.

スコットランドではよく日の出を見る。あまり時差ボケはしないのだけれど予防のため、普段より4時間ずらした生活をしているので10時頃寝れば4時頃目が覚める(日本時間で6～12時)。また、私が旅行へ行くのは4～5月が多く、5時頃から明るくなり夜は9時頃まで明るく、夕食を食べた後でも普通に写真が撮れる。
B&Bの窓からだんだんと明るくなってくる景色を見ていて、登る朝日を目にして、”今日もいい天気”と思いながらカメラを取り出す。でもあっという間に雲が出てきて太陽を隠す。いじわるなScotch Weatherはなかなかきれいな写真を撮らせてはくれない。

I often see a sunrise during a stay in Scotland. I usually sleep from 10PM to 4AM in Scotland, same as 6AM to 12AM in Japan. Because of anti-jet-lag, though I don’t usually have jet-lag. And I usually go to Scotland in April or May, to be brighter from around 5AM, and I can take photos after dinner around 9PM.
I saw a sunrise out of window at B&B, “It’s a lovely day today!”. I got ready to take photos of sunrize. However, it got cloudy and I lost a photo opportunity. Scotch Weather is very spiteful!
